Harborside Health Center Community Suffers Under Federal Cannabis Crackdown

type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/thenewswire/">

SAN FRANCISCO -- Five-year-old Jayden David suffers from a rare form of epilepsy. In his short life, he's taken two dozen different kinds of medication and has been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance 45 times.

The young boy's life, however, slowly began to improve when he started using medical cannabis to ease his chronic pain and seizures.

"He sings and smiles like a normal child now," Steve DeAngelo, executive director of Harborside Health Center, the dispensary that provides David with his medicine, told The Huffington Post. According to DeAngelo, the child has seen an 80 percent reduction in his symptoms and can now spend twice as much time at school. Harborside helped develop a specialized cannabis tincture for David that doesn't have the same "high" side effects marijuana is commonly known for.

'Hotel Hell' Finale: Gordon Ramsay Finds Bugs Everywhere, A 'Galaxy' On The Bedspreads (VIDEO)

type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/thenewswire/">

Apparently, Fox has decided they're pleased with the idea of having celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay step out of the kitchen and offer his makeover advice to hotels. They recently renewed his fourth reality show for the network, "Hotel Hell," for a second season.

The renewal came just in time for the show's first season finale, which saw Ramsay heading to the River Rock Inn in Pennslyvania. Ramsay almost immediately determined the inn was "not fit for the public." And it wasn't even the bugs he kept finding everywhere that were the biggest problem.

He took black lights to the beds and found what he described as "a vast spread of bodily fluid stains."

'Stars Earn Stripes' Finale: Did Dean Cain, Todd Palin, Picabo Street, Or Eva Torres Win? (VIDEO)

type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/thenewswire/">

Going into Monday's two-part finale for "Stars Earn Stripes" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on NBC), there were two men and two women left out of the eight that started in the military reality competition series. By the end of the night, only one would remain standing, and it was someone who was familiar with holding championship titles.

Todd Palin was knocked out in the first hour, leaving Dean Cain to battle two female competitors for the top prize: gold medal winner Picabo Street and two-time WWE Divas Champion Eva Torres. Perhaps it was their experience with competition and victory, but Cain fell to both women.

In the end, it was Torres who won the top prize for the USO; her charity of choice. For winning, she eared an additional $100,000 for the charity, in addition to her earnings throughout the competition.
